Tei-cha (Tea Serving Event) held at the special opening of the ‘Itteki-an’ teahouse.
Please choose from either of the 2 events: [Tate-dashi (approx. 30 mins.)] and [Otemae-tsuki (approx. 50 mins.) ]

*Before applying, please confirm the contents of [Regarding Participation] below
*An explanation of the teahouse is given approximately 10 minutes before the ending of the Otemae-tsuki only. (Observation is from outside, entrance to the 7-tatami mat room and small rooms is not permitted)
[Regarding Participation]
*Entry to the 7-tatami mat room and small rooms of the ‘Itteki-an’ teahouse is not permitted.
*The ‘Tate-dashi’ serving is suitable for people who can sit in similar positions for 30 minutes.
*The ‘Otemae-tsuki’ serving is suitable for people with a knowledge of Japanese tea ceremony. (The school of tea ceremony is not relevant)
*Please wear socks when participating. (Socks with a pattern are okay, color is not relevant.) Participation is not allowed if barefoot or wearing panty (nylon) stockings.
*If wearing a skirt, the skirt should hide the knees when sitting (kneeling).
[Points to note when making a reservation]
The reservation must be made by the person wishing to participate. When making a reservation for 2 people, please make the reservation using each participant’s full name.
For confirmation of age, when a child is participating, please use the child’s name and date of birth when making the reservation, not the guardian’s.

On each day:
*Tate-dashi (1) 11:45-, (2) 13:30-
*Otemae-tsuki “Explantion of teahouse is given from outside” (3) 14:40-
- Venue
- Eight-tatami Room Teahouse (Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum Inner Garden, not usually open to the public)
*Assembly location: Please ask at Reception on the 1st Floor (Ground Floor) of the Main Building
- Event fee
- *Tate-dashi: One serving \1,000 (with tea confectionery, museum addmission fee to be paid separately)
*Otemae-tsuki: One serving \2,000 (with tea confectionery, museum addmission fee to be paid separtely)
- Capacity
- First 10 people on each sesssion for both Tate-dashi and Otemae-tsuki
- Reservation deadline
- Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once the workshop reaches full capacity.
*If there are cancellations, the dedicated reservation website will reopen for applications.

Regarding cancellations |
• – If a cancellation is made on or after 3 days before the event, the full amount of the participation fee will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
• – If you wish to cancel, you can cancel from the reservation confirmation email. If the cancellation deadline has passed, or you did not receive an email, you can contact us at 078-242-0216 or event@dougukan.jp. |
