Overview

Join us as we welcome a colorist and a gold leaf craftsman involved in the restoration of Nikko’s shrines and temples and paint floral patterns with traditional coloring techniques using iwa-enogu, or natural mineral pigments, and gold leaf.
*This workshop is being held alongside the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum’s 40th Anniversary Exhibition “The Colors and Metalwork of Nikko: Revealing the mystery behind the architectural beauty of its shrines and temples.”

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sneakers (no sandals, crocs, high heels, etc.)
